Introduction
Museum is an
institution that cares for collection of artifacts and others objects, such as
artistic, cultural, historical or scientific importance. Many of the museums in
the world make these items available for public viewing through exhibition that
maybe permanent or temporary. Most of the museum can be found in major cities,
while are also small museums exist in smaller cities, town and rural areas. The
reason to have a museum where they have varying aims, ranging from serving researchers
and specialists the general public. Yet, most museum open for public is because
they wanted to show the people from other country and local to see what they
have been collecting and what they found during the past.
According to The World Museum Community[1], there are more than
20,000 museums in the worlds. During the 2010s, the community acceleration in
the digitization of information with the combination increasing capacity of
digital information storage where can easily grouping into old museum and
modern museum.
There are many types of museum in
the worlds, which are art museums, natural history museums, science museum,
fine art museum, children museum and botanical museums. The museums vary from
large institution which covering to small institution by focusing on specific
subjects, location and outstanding person. For examples, science museums,
children’s museums, natural history’s museum and many more. Many more museums
that specialize further such as modern art museum, architecture museum, aviation
museums and others. Common museum which most people visit are national museums,
art museum and science museum.
The architecture, type and size of
the museum is reflected by its collection, location and surrounding area, but
most of it is by the culture in the country. A museum normally houses a core
collection of its important selected objects in its field.
From all the museum, I have finalize
some museum which is National Malaysia Museum, National Singapore Museum and
National Taiwan Museum. These three museum have their own identity and the
architecture of the building are different.
